My child has never played baseball before, is this the right place for them?
Absolutely!
The RBBA is a recreational league where all players have the opportunity to play regardless of prior skills or ability. Our coaches work very hard to make sure that all of our players enjoy themselves and learn during all practices and games. We believe strongly that everyone should have the opportunity to get out and play ball!
What do I have to provide as a parent?
All parents are asked to provide a pair of solid white baseball pants for their player, as well as other volunteer requirements that come up from time to time. Your coach will have more information during the season.
Do I need to provide any equipment?
The only thing that you need to provide is a pair of solid white baseball pants, and a baseball glove. The RBBA will provide a uniform shirt, hat, and socks, and each team will be outfitted with batting helmets, bats, catchers gear, and similar necessary equipment. You may provide your own equipment (like a bat, batting helmet, etc.) as long as it meets the league rules on equipment. The league will not be held responsible for anything that happens to equipment you provide.
How much does it cost?
More information about cost will come out before the start of the Spring season. The RBBA makes every effort to make playing affordable for everyone. If you have any financial questions that are not answered here, send us a note at the bottom of the page and we will get back to you.
I want to pay by check. Where should I send it and who should it be made out to?
If you chose to pay for registration by check, pelase make your check payable to the Rockville Baseball Association and send it to: P.O. Box 1412, Rockville, MD, 20849
How many games will my child's team play?
During the Spring season we expect to play between 10-14 games. As much as we may try we cannot control the weather and games will be rained out from time to time. The league will reschedule games wherever possible to make sure you get your moneys worth.
Where will games be played?
You can check out a full list of the fields we pay at by viewing our Field Locations page.
When will the season end?
Our spring season will conclude by the end of the Montgomery County Public School's year, and our Fall season will conclude by November 15.
How will my child be assigned to a team? Can they play with their friends?
We assign players based on their school and age. You may specify certain people, or team you would like your child to play with and we will do our best to accommodate that, however we cannot guarantee all requests will be met.
Can my child change teams?
Only under certain extenuating circumstances will a player be allowed to change during a season.
