Umpire Training Programs

Umpires play a vital role in keeping our games fair, fun, and competitive — and we’re always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. Becoming an umpire is not only a paid community role, but also a rewarding way to stay involved in the game while supporting local athletes as they grow. The following Umpire Training Programs provide hands-on instruction and guidance to help new and experienced officials develop their skills and confidence on the field. Whether you’re an experienced player, coach, or community member, we invite you to volunteer and get trained to make a positive impact on the next generation of players.

CASO members umpire softball games for high schools, recreational leagues in Montgomery County, the Central Maryland League, practice games for travel teams, and college club softball.

Anyone interested in joining the IBUA as a new umpire should fill out the form below or contact Ray Taylor directly at (240)-463-9707 or [email protected]. We will provide information on upcoming training opportunities.
